The current education debate seems to be dominated by extreme, binary positions. Knowledge rich or discovery learning. To use a powerpoint or not to use a powerpoint. Sense and sanity can usually be found in a halfway house: the Goldilocks principle.
Education has given me a lot to say. One of the joys of teaching, however, has been the realisation that most of my initial opinions are somehow wrong. But through discussions with students and fellow teachers ideas can be refined and improved.
